Join us for Shabbat Dinner, cooked by Dov De Lay, at 5:30pm. Our dinner will feature feta matzo pie, salad, dessert, and dino nuggets for the kids. Following our Erev Shabbat service at 6:30pm, stay as Rabbi Spector interviews Kol Ami member, Anne Asman, about the aging brain. Please send questions in advance to programming@conkolami.org.

Come learn about how the brain functions as we age, what is normal brain aging and what is not, when you or your loved ones should be concerned, and what we can do to support healthy brain aging and healthy aging in general. It's never too late!

About Anne Asman

Anne Asman

    Anne Asman holds a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Gerontology from the University of Utah School of Nursing. She is the Program Manager for the Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic and the Optimal Aging Older Adult Mental Health Day Treatment Program at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute. She has completed Utah Palliative Care Education training and earned certifications in Community Health Work and Dementia Education and Communication. Her training also includes certification from the Dealing with Dementia Training program offered through the Rosalynn Carter Institute of Caregiving. Anne serves as the Chair of the Dementia Aware workgroup for the State Alzheimer's and Related Dementias Coordinating Council. She collaborates closely with the state Area Agencies on Aging (AAA), the State Division of Aging and Adult Services, and Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services.

    Anne co-authored the Utah Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia Plans for 2018-2022 and 2023-2030. She collaborates with various public and private organizations to advocate for best practices in care and support for older adult mental health throughout the state. Along with her colleagues, she has developed curricula and facilitated presentations, seminars, and webinars on caregiving, dementia, brain health, ageism, and other aging-related topics. Anne teaches aging courses at the Osher Institute of Lifelong Learning. She actively participates in the Institute on Aging, the University of Utah Center on Aging, the American Federation for Aging Research, the American Society on Aging, the Gerontological Society of America, the Age-Friendly Health Systems Initiative, and the Creative Aging Coalition. Currently, she is consulting on the Utah State Master Plan on Aging, set to be released in 2027.
