We are committed to a life-time of Jewish learning. Classes are available for those wanting to know more about Judaism, to learn Hebrew as well as for those seeking advanced study.

All you need to do is:

  1. Acquire the texts (find the texts at local stores or use Kol Ami's Amazon Smile code);
  2. Come to the Adult Education offerings this year;
  3. Suggested donation of $5 - $20 per session to support Kol Ami's Shavu'ot Scholar in Residence. (We will have collection boxes available at each class.)

Current Classes:

  • Nivi'im Study
    Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. (Vivian Shapiro Library) 
    In each class, we will consider each line and section of a Book of Prophets, interpreting with respect to religious context, history, and Jewish Tradition. 
  • Introduction to Judaism 
    Mondays at 6:30 p.m. (Youth Lounge) 
    This is a class on basic Judaism for those just learning about the Jewish religion or those who want more information. 
  • Introduction to Hebrew 
    Sundays at 11:00 a.m. (Vivian Shapiro Library) 
    Geoffrey Silcox leads this beginning Hebrew class for interested adults. 
  • How to Lead a Kabbalat Shabbat Service
    Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. (Rabbi's Office) 
    Come learn how to lead a Friday evening service.

"Remember" is a gripping 2015 Canadian-German drama directed by Atom Egoyan. The film, which won the Canadian Screen Award for the Best Original Screenplay and was nominated the Best Motion Picture, stars the esteemed actors Christopher Plummer and Martin Landau. The film tells the story of a widower who, while struggling with memory loss, embarks on a cross-country odyssey with a fellow Holocaust survivor to find the former Nazi responsible for the deaths of their family members.
