RAFI Event "Zion to Zion: Bridging Salt Lake and Israel"
Wednesday, October 29th • 6:00pm–8:00pm
Location given with RSVP
Join us for a fun and meaningful evening for young adults (ages 21-40) to discuss Israel’s past, present, and future. Enjoy free drinks, delicious food, and great company while engaging in thoughtful conversations about Israel. Connect, learn, and unwind in a relaxed setting! Please RSVP below!
This evening is not a lecture but a space to share a meal, listen, and reflect; to ask together what the stories you'll hear from Rebecca Gutierrez, Adam Ickowicz, Adam Rosenberg, and Abram Berry mean for us as young Jewish adults in America, and how we connect to Israel today with open hearts and honest conversation.
Throughout their journey, they met people and places that reshaped how they think about coexistence, grief, and resilience. From a Bedouin mayor bridging communities in the Negev, to Palestinians in East Jerusalem navigating life between worlds, to an Arab Christian CEO leading one of Israel’s top hospitals. They spoke with IDF reservists freshly home from service, a journalist offering ground-level insight, and a UN representative grappling with human rights discourse after October 7.
They visited massacre sites, spent part of a Shabbat dinner in a bomb shelter as sirens sounded, and stood in Jerusalem on Tisha B’Av, a day when ancient mourning met with present pain and a longing for healing and unity.
What is RAFI?
Whether you grew up at URJ camps, shared deep late-night conversations at a NFTY convention, had a bar or bat mitzvah with embarrassing photos to prove it, or lost friendships since October 7, the Reform Movement Alumni for Israel (RAFI) is for you.
RAFI, a leadership program for American Reform Jews ages 22 to 35, offers the perfect opportunity to strengthen your commitment to Israel and the Jewish people through travel, learning and friendship.
Registration is now full! Please contact programming@conkolami.org with any questions.
