Jewish Renewal and Resilience: The Revival of a Community Once Thought Lost

Monday, March 24th • 7:00pm
Congregation Kol Ami

Join us for an inspiring evening with Jonathan Ornstein, CEO of the Krakow Jewish Community Center, and a driving force behind the revival of Jewish life in Poland. Jonathan will take us on a journey through the remarkable story of Jewish renewal and resilience in Poland, highlighting the revival of a community once thought lost.

The JCC in Krakow is a thriving hub, serving more than 1,100 Jewish members and welcoming over 10,000 visitors each month. In response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, the center has also provided aid to over 380,000 refugees.

Originally from New York City, Jonathan made Aliyah to Israel in 1994, where he lived on a kibbutz in the Negev and served in the Israel Defense Forces. In 2001, he relocated to Poland, where he has since dedicated himself to strengthening Jewish life. Since 2008, he has led the Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Krakow, an institution established by King Charles III.

Please join us for this important discussion on Jewish resilience and the evolving landscape of Jewish life in Eastern Europe.
