Cantor Installation Celebration Special Guests
Cantor Paula Baruch
Cantor Paula Baruch has served Canada’s oldest Reform Jewish Synagogue, Temple Anshe Sholom in Hamilton, Ontario, since 2011 and is currently the congregation’s spiritual leader. Cantor Baruch’s inspiring voice encourages those that love to sing and speaks to the heart of meaningful worship through music. She trained at the Hebrew Union College’s Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music in New York City, where she and Cantor Davis were classmates. She is a member of the American Conference of Cantors (ACC) and the Guild of Temple Musicians (GTM).
Hazzan Brian Baruch Shamash
Hazzan Brian Baruch Shamash is a gifted musician and educator skilled in Ashkenazic and Sephardic traditions. Drawing on his Iraqi Jewish heritage, he has performed across the country, holds music degrees and a Hazzan-Minister certificate and has studied rabbinics. He serves Temple Israel of Great Neck, where he and Cantor Davis frequently collaborated, and is a member of the Cantors’ Assembly.
The Hot House West Swing Collective
Our guest musical ensemble, The Hot House West Swing Collective, is part of a non-profit organization fostering a vibrant musical community in Salt Lake City and connecting people with the irresistible groove of swing rhythm and jazz.
