Pride
Congregation Kol Ami is excited to announce our participation in the following Pride events. Please join us!
Interfaith Pride Service at Kol Ami
Thursday, May 30th • 7:00pm • Congregation Kol Ami
The Pride Interfaith Worship Service has kicked off the Pride Festival for more than two decades. It is a time of celebration, reflection, prayer, memorial, music and love as the many faith traditions that are expressly welcoming to and fully inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community come together to "queer faith" in the hope that our arms might open wider still. This year's theme is "Queering Faith."
Pride Parade
Sunday, June 2nd • 10:00am – 12:00pm • Downtown SLC
Join Congregation Kol Ami, along with other Utah Jewish organizations, for the Utah Pride Parade and show support for LGBTQIA+ community! RSVP for details to lilah.rosenfield@gmail.com.
A Wider Bridge Presentation
Thursday, June 6th • 6:30pm • Zoom link given with RSVP
Join us for a special presentation on Zoom by Rabbi Spector about A Wider Bridge. A Wider Bridge is an organization dedicated to promoting LGBTQ inclusion in Israel and building connections between the LGBTQ+ communities in the United States and Israel. They also work to fight LGBTQphobia and anti-semitism, and provide a place for intersectionality of Zionist and Queer identity. Please join us for this Zoom session in talking with A Wider Bridge to learn more about their work. Register for the Zoom link!
Pride Shabbat Service & Shabbat Dinner
Friday, June 7th • 6:30pm • Congregation Kol Ami
Join us for a special Erev Shabbat Pride service using Siddur Sha’ar Zahav, the first LGBTQIA+ prayer book. Immediately following services, join us for a community Shabbat dinner (Kol Ami Members: $10 per adult, $5 per child; Guests: $15 per adult, $10 per child). Our dinner, cooked by Dov De Lay, will include meatless baked ziti (gluten-free option available), salad, garlic bread, and rainbow cake! Register for dinner below!
Kol Ami Queer Jewish Book Club
Sunday, June 23rd • 4:00pm • Zoom link given with RSVP
The first book we will discuss is Becoming Eve: My Journey from Ultra-Orthodox Rabbi to Transgender Woman by Abby Stein. There is a copy at the Salt Lake County Library, and it’s also available for under $15 on Audible books or through Amazon. Register for the Zoom link!
