On the holiday of Tisha B'Av, we mourn the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem, the expulsions of the Jews from England in 1290 and Spain in 1492, and many other tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people on this day throughout history.

Join us for a powerful evening of learning, reflection, and remembrance. At 8:30pm, Rabbi Spector will lead a thought-provoking text study on Kamza and Bar Kamza—a timeless story of internal strife—and how its lessons echo through today’s divisions among Jews during the Gaza War.

Then at 9:30pm, we will gather for oue Erev Tisha B’Av service (in-person or via livestream) including the reading of the Megillat Eicha, the Scroll of Lamentations. .

Join us at 9:30am for our Tisha B’Av morning service  (in-person or via livestream).

Following the service, at approximately 12:00pm, we will screen the documentary OCTOBER 8, which captures the immediate aftermath of the October 7th attacks through the voices and footage of Israeli survivors. After the film, Rabbi Spector will lead a conversation exploring the emotional toll and fractured relationships that many have experienced in the wake of that tragic day.

To conclude the holiday, please join us at 3:00pm for a Mincha service.
 

October 8 FIlmOCTOBER 8 offers a look at the explosion of antisemitism on college campuses, social media and in the streets of America beginning the day after the October 7th attack on Israel by Hamas. Through meticulous investigation, the film also uncovers how over decades, Hamas created sophisticated networks in America to permeate U.S. institutions and examines the tsunami of online antisemitism, propaganda, and disinformation unleashed by Iran, China and Russia – with the sole purpose of dividing American society.
