Join us for a slideshow presentation by Kol Ami congregant and Colorado College student, Max Sandweiss, about his “Let Our People Know” 10-day trip to Israel in summer 2019 with J Street U, including traditional tourist stops like Jerusalem and Yad Vashem, and the Dead Sea. Plus, in-depth discussions about Israel’s West Bank occupation with Israeli settlers and Palestinians.

Music, Art, and Solidarity — Join us to learn about Israeli music and art about politics, protest, and social issues. There will be a discussion on why it is important for American Jews to pay attention to the similarities between the reasons for protests in Israel and protests in the U.S. This includes power dynamics, systemic racism and violence, and how to respond and open up to both sides of the narrative without turning away and giving up completely. Learn about how peaceful protest, dissemination of unheard voices, and art go hand in hand.
